If you have been on a vacation in Wales you will have a noticed that Wales has a temperate climate. This basically means that it never really gets very hot and never gets really cold. If you are a competent swimmer and have a wetsuit and some old trainers then Coasteering can be considered. Please ask the cottage owners for some guidance and be aware that this can be a major adventure and only suitable for competent children or adults. With the tide out the left cliff scramble over 60 yards leads to a plunge pool that is at least 8 feet deep. Locals leap of the ten-foot drop into the pool but are wary of the reaching claws of spider crabs in its depths.

The stunning Cereidigon Coast is a haven for those who enjoy watersports . Tresaith beach is ideal for windsurfing, dinghy and catamaran sailing and the Cardigan Bay Watersports Centre in New Quay are some of the most popular.

The beaches of South Carmarthenshire provide an excellent loctaion for sea based watersports including swimming, canoeing, kayaking and sailing.  Inland the Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club offers an opportunity to learn how to canoe or to improve your existing canoeing skills. The main club activities are Slalom, Freestyle, Surf and Canadian Canoeing done in the river.

Surrounded by 125 miles of coastline, Anglesey is a prime location for watersports. As an island, you will always be within half an hour of a beach that offers the perfect conditions for your chosen sport. Surfing, diving, kayaking, coasteering and sailing are all huge favourites, whilst Anglesey also has some of the best windsurfing and kite-surfing beaches in Britain. The key watersports centres on Anglesey are Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay, Holyhead and Beaumaris. Here are some of the main activities…

Yr Eifl, or The Rivals, is the highest point on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales and has three summits. Garn Ganol, the central summit, is the highest at 564m, followed by Tre’r Ceiri (485m) and Garn For (444m). This trio of hills offer rugged walking and great views and can be easily seen from Anglesey and the major mountains of north western Snowdonia. 

The Ystwyth Trail is a 34 km cycleway, bridleway pedestrian trail that goes from Aberystwyth to Tregaron. The trail is surprisingly a gentle route, taking you on a leisurely journey, through some spectacular countryside, which includes two National Nature Reserves, Pendinas near Aberystwyth and Cors Caron Bog near Tregaron and 10 acres of deciduous woodland near Trawscoed. The route is designed to be safe and accessible to cyclists, walkers, horse riders and the disabled.

The Ceredigion Coast Path follows a 60 miles / 96 km route between the Teifi and Dyfi estuaries. The footpath links coastal towns and villages along the spectacular scenery of the Cardigan Bay coastline. The path is rich in wild flowers, seabirds and a wealth of other wildlife that awaits the walker.   The sections of the path are as follows from north to south:
