If you rent a car, you can get from London to South Wales in only two to three hours. By train it’s even quicker, just two hours from London to Cardiff. Afon (River) Dyfi flows through the Dyfi Valley in Mid Wales. It rises in the small lake Creiglyn Dyfi at about 1,900 feet (580 m) above sea level, below Aran Fawddwy, flowing south to Dinas Mawddwy and Cemmaes Road, then south west past the town of Machynlleth to Cardigan Bay at Aberdyfi.  Fishing on the River Dyfi

The Llyn Peninsula in North Wales offers excellent fishing, from sea angling, to rivers and freshwater lakes. If variety’s what you are looking for then the Llyn coast will be very much to your taste. 

Commonwood Fishery is a coarse fishery set in 60 acres of stunning Welsh countryside near Wrexham. Here you will find match, pleasure and carp fishing lakes and all are suitable for experienced or inexperienced anglers. The Welshpool area offers plenty of fishing opportunities from rivers to lakes and canals. These yield an amazing range of catches from the awesome pike and noble carp to the more common roach or trout. 

Monmouthshire has some excellent fishing. Running through the scenic backdrop of the Brecon Beacons the Usk and Wye rivers are widely renowned as two of the best salmon rivers not only in Wales but also in the whole of the UK. They also hold large stocks of wild brown trout averaging 10oz.  For Course fishing the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal is ideal for both experienced and novice anglers. Licenses can be bought via many local clubs.
