Fishing in Monmouthshire
Monmouthshire has some excellent fishing. Running through the scenic backdrop of the Brecon Beacons the Usk and Wye rivers are widely renowned as two of the best salmon rivers not only in Wales but also in the whole of the UK. They also hold large stocks of wild brown trout averaging 10oz.
For Course fishing the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal is ideal for both experienced and novice anglers. Licenses can be bought via many local clubs.

The Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary provide excellent sea fishing particularly for winter cod and whiting.
