The Afan river flows through the valley and holds wild brown trout and runs of sea trout. Day tickets available. Sea fishing around the area is fantastic (Cwmafon being only 4 miles from the sea) with a mixture of open beaches, rocky outcrops and deep water jetty’s. Boat Trips can also be booked from Swansea Marina. 

At Conwy Water Gardens you will find 3 coarse fishing lakes with stunning views over the Conwy Valley. The lakes are accessible also for the disabled with disabled access from the car park which is located only 30 metres from the lake and also convenient toilet facilities are also situated on site.

Being a coastal city the areas around Cardiff have some superb sea fishing in the Bristol Channel. Charter boats can be hired form Cardiff Bay. The river Taff is a recovering Salmon river that also holds huge stocks of wild trout and Grayling. Day Tickets are available from local associations.

The large sandy beach in Amroth and the rocky headlands either side provide excellent sea fishing all year round.

This route will take you along North Wales Coast line linking all the seaside towns Rhyl, Kinmel Bay, Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Conwy. The route is mainly traffic free all the way and you can see some of the areas highlights along the way, the beautiful beaches, offshore windfarm, Gwrych castle and Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea promenade.
