Description

Escape to this charming retreat, which is one of two properties set on Green Grove Farm. This holiday let is set just 2 miles from the village of Llangadog in the county of Carmarthenshire. One notable site is Llangadog Castle, a motte and bailey castle that once stood on a hill overlooking the village. Although only remnants of the castle remain today, it serves as a reminder of the area's past. The popular market towns of Llandovery (5 miles) and Llandeilo (9 miles) are well worth a visit. There are many places to visit while staying at this rural idyll. Visit notable Y Garn Goch (6 miles), a hill with two Iron Age hill forts, and visit the dramatic ruins of Carreg Cennen Castle (13 miles). This is an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, just 4 miles away. The national park offers opportunities for hiking, walking, and enjoying outdoor activities.

The stone cottage is finished to a very high standard. Set over one floor, it enjoys amazing unspoilt views over fields and pastures and has stylish interiors with a contemporary feel. Enter directly into the large, open-plan kitchen/diner, which is fully equipped for preparing a hearty breakfast or evening feast. The living area is set within the open-plan room and is perfect for relaxing after a day of adventures. Patio doors lead from the living area outside. After a day out, enjoy an evening simply unwinding whilst gazing out of the floor-to-ceiling window at the views. Both king bedrooms are set on either side of the living area and both rooms enjoy their own private en-suite facilities. One of the en-suite bathrooms has a free-standing bath and wet room.

As it’s set on a farm, fields and meadows surround this pretty retreat. There are plenty of enchanting beauty spots throughout the surrounding area and lovely countryside where you can go walking or cycling during your holiday.

Pet allowed but must be kept on a lead at all time.

Reviews

Had a wonderful time here, idyllic, peaceful, wonderful far reaching views, amazing cottage, beautifully furnished with all mod cons. Highly recommended. Thanks so much we LOVED it here.

Mr L,

Lovely, well equipped and very comfortable accommodation. Friendly, helpful owners. Beautiful location looking over the hills and valley.

Dr N,

The cottage was very comfortable with fantastic views over the countryside. It would have been ideal had there not been quite a few standard items either missing or not working. Unfortunately building work was being carried out whilst we were there which the lettings agency hadn't warned us about. Having said that, the location was good - villages with independent shops, lots of good walks and historical sites to visit.

Mrs W,

The barn conversion we stayed in was lovely. It was clean and comfortable. It has a few shortcomings but I feel I could recommend this to a friend. A great view of the countryside. We watched hot air balloons taking off and also watching the Red Kites flying around outside. Central to many amenities and supermarket only about 4 miles away. Many eating places in Llandovery and many shops to explore. Llangadog rather small but we did manage to find a lovely restaurant nearby .Many, many castles in the area if that is your thing to do.

Mrs H,
