Description
A comfortable holiday cottage in West Wales, set in 20 acres of stunning countryside and wildflower meadows and with its own private hot tub. This cottage is perfect for those who want to an activity based holiday, or those who want to take it easy - be it painting, writing, reading or just sitting and thinking. There are stunning gardens all around the cottage and a secluded barbecue and seating area for 'al fresco' dining. Stone Barn Cottage has been designed with a mixture of exposed beams and contemporary furnishings.
Ground Floor
Whether you plan on just cooking a breakfast during your stay, or a full Welsh roast dinner, you will find everything you need in this fully equipped kitchen, recently renovated but with original features retained. This includes a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer.
The spacious lounge includes comfortable seating, a cosy electric fireplace, a Smart TV and DVD player, CD/Stereo, Books, Games, Magazines and Jigsaws.
The ground floor en-suite bedroom has twin beds, TV, dressing table, plenty of storage space and a large walk-in shower, which is ideal for guests who have accessibility needs. Please note twins can be placed together as a Superking if required. Please request when booking.
Upstairs
The spacious upstairs en-suite bedroom has a king size bed and two single full-size futon beds for children. It has a walk-in wardrobe, dressing table and a beautiful bathroom with a hand-made Welsh Dragon mosaic and a shower over the bath. It also has its own access directly into the surrounding gardens and a smart TV.

There are stunning gardens all around the cottage and a secluded barbecue and seating area for 'al fresco' dining.
Set amongst the wildflower meadows, the revolving Summer House turns to catch the glorious sunrises and the stunning sunsets. It is a lovely place to relax and enjoy an early morning al fresco breakfast or an evening drink.

Stone Barn green holiday cottage is located on Castell Farm, near the village of Ffostrasol. Ffostrasol is 6 miles from Newcastle Emlyn, 6 miles from Llandysul and 13 miles from Cardigan. The cottage is also 15 minutes from the beautiful Heritage Coastline and the Sandy Beaches of Cardigan Bay. The Ffostrasol Arms, now famous for its good bar food – do try Betty’s Sunday lunch (advance booking necessary!). ‘La Calabria’ is also within a mile, an Italian restaurant renowned for its authentic Italian cooking combined with fresh Welsh produce. Teifi Valley Cheese, an award winning cheese maker who supplies its cheese to Harrods is close by at the end of a valley. Cardigan has a range of amenities including bank, post office, internet cafe, supermarket, filling station, chemist, doctor, vet, indoor market and interesting independent shops.
Nearby is the Teifi Trail, part of the National Cycle Network, which will take our cycling visitors through some wonderful scenery to the coast at Cardigan, or inland to the wild beauty of the nature reserves around Tregaron. Fifteen minutes drive from your holiday cottage will bring you to the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay, with its clean, unspoilt beaches at Poppit Sands, Llangranog, Penbryn, Mwnt, and charming harbour towns at New Quay, Tresaith and Newport Sands. The Heritage Coast Path provides cliff walking and stunning views all along the coast of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire with sights of rock pools, sea birds, seals and sometimes dolphins.
Dotted around the countryside are numerous ancient and medieval historical sites, from Celtic hill forts to Roman mines and Welsh monasteries from the Middle Ages. Also worth a visit is the National Botanic Garden of Wales and the restored 17th century house and garden at Aberglasney in Carmarthenshire. There is also a number of excellent restaurants and pubs in the vicinity where you can enjoy home made local fare or more exotic cuisine during your cottage holiday in West Wales. Whether you are interested in walking, cycling, fishing, sailing, golf, beach riding, browsing in local craft and antique shops or visiting historical sites, you will find a range of brochures in the holiday cottage.

There are cycle routes for all ages and abilities. There is room for you to safely store your own bikes at the cottage or bike hire can be arranged in advance. Quiet country lanes from the cottage, perfect for cycling. Teifi Trail 6.0 miles

Horse riding is available in a few locations including Gilfach yr Halen, Llwyncelyn. 12 miles
