Description

This delightful cottage is located on a beautiful Welsh hillside with plenty of local hiking and cycling trails for you to enjoy. The scenic market town of Llandovery (7.5 miles east) provides a gateway to the stunning Cambrian Mountains, Brecon Beacons and has plenty of inns, restaurants, and shops to explore. Continue past Llandovery Castle and on 4 miles to find Myddfai, a small hamlet, that offers a popular visitors’ centre with a cafe. The vibrant and colourful town of Llandeilo is 13 miles south and offers numerous independent shops – a great place to pick up some Welsh souvenirs. Step back in time at The Dolaucothi Gold Mines, 4 miles north, before heading further north to the university town of Lampeter. Here you can learn about traditional arts and crafts such as the making of Welsh blankets and quilts.

Step into this rural retreat via the hallway where you can kick off your walking shoes after a busy day exploring. To your right is a bright and airy country style kitchen well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Back through the hall you enter the open-plan living room and dining area, with a cast iron wood burner, perfect for snuggling up and enjoying a movie on the TV. Enjoy a family breakfast together at the dining table or step through the oak French doors out onto the patio where you will find a table and chairs for al fresco dining and superb views down the valley. There is a lovely king-size bedroom on the first floor with an antique wardrobe, bedside tables and a door leading to a stone staircase at the side of the property. Also on this floor is a family bathroom with shower over bath and a second twin bedroom, but this can also be set up as a super-king bed if requested on booking.

Outside is an enclosed patio area with garden furniture, BBQ and fire pit where you can relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. Speak to your hosts about a guided tour to view their exotic conservation bird collection located in aviaries within the surrounding grounds.

Reviews

This cottage is one of the most comprehensively equipped and superbly turned put cottages we have ever stayed at. Location beautiful and owners charming. Would not hesitate to recommend.
