Reviews

Lovely owners, made to feel very welcome, lovely cosy cottage with log burner and hot tub, near perfect!

Mr C,

Beautiful accomodation with amazing views, lovely hosts and we loved seeing the farm dogs every day, the children loved them. We would definitely come back, thank you for an amazing stay.

Mr W,

Lovely place, fantastic hosts, friendly dogs and very comfortable accommodation with magnificent scenery.

Mr Alan W,

Everything about the accommodation and area was great. Booking was smooth and simple and we were sent lots of reminders and details about next steps.

Mrs Jill A,

Absolutely fab little cottage, we enjoyed it very very much! If I had just one thing to ‘moan’ about though, it would be the upstairs bedroom doors are stiff to open, an when one person would come out, sometimes early hours, it would wake the other person up in the other bedroom. Just a small niggle. Other than that it was perfect :)

Miss Hayley J,

Very efficient service. Information about the cottage and location was thorough .The Cottage description was accurate and the images provided the information we needed to know before booking. The spacious accommodation suited our son who is a wheelchair user and made his stay pleasant and comfortable. Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

Mrs Carolyn G,

The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, clean with amazing views over the surrounding countryside. The owners were very accomodating and friendly. They gave us mince pies, cake and their scrummy home produced milk and shake. We bought lots more of this from the little self serve shop in Lampeter. The hot tub was wonderful and in a great position to view the hills which were covered in snow - very picturesque! The big disappointment however was that the log fire was out of order. We so looked forward to a cackling log fire. Gwen was very apologetic and even offered us to move next door. We needed 3 bedrooms though and had put our belongings away by then too. Gwen said that she'd informed you and that you should have emailed me about it. I didn't get an email from you. The log fire and hot tub were 2 important factors for us, in choosing the cottage at this time of year.

Mrs Janette W,

Overall stay was amazing, couldn’t fault anything!

Miss Morgan W,

Although I spent my week mainly alone I felt comforted by the surroundings the views . The activity of the farm and its dogs and jerseys giving birth and hospitality and friendliness of the owner and family very good ?????

Mr Colin R,

Map

Hen Ysgubor is located on an award winning farm 1 mile from the county market town of Lampeter, and only 10 miles from the stunning Ceredigion Coastaline. The Farm has won many prestigious local and national awards for the farming system and has been well documented over many years in the local and national press. The farm has twice been named as the best grassland farm in the United Kingdom and has produced the best silage in Wales not fewer than four times. Other accolades include the cleanest and tidiest farm, most well designed farm buildings and the best lowland farm in Wales.

Lampeter is the home of the oldest University College in Wales and is the oldest degree-awarding institution in Wales and England after Oxford and Cambridge. There is splendid countryside scenery to be enjoyed in the Lampeter area - and wonderful angling on the river Teifi.

Nearby there are many local independent restaurants and pubs that serve fine local produce.

Aberaeron (10 miles) is an architectural gem full of interest. There's a Sea Aquarium, the famous Harbourmaster Restaurant and the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate. Once a busy port with a thriving ship-building history, it is now home to vessels designed for leisure rather than work. It is still a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. There are numerous high quality, local cafes and restaurants and several traditional public houses.
