Reviews

It's a lovely cottage on a farm not far from the local town. Plenty of space for us 6 adults and a dog. A fab view of the countryside from the hot tub, a great place to get away and relax. The cottage is well equipped and furnished. Internet isn't great but it is rural Wales so not much the owners can do about that. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly though once they had shown us around, we don't need to call on them again as everything was taken care of. If you want to get away from it all, this is a great place to do that.

Mr S,

A lovely cottage with great views. Would definitely go back again.

Mrs K,

Excellent location and views. lovely cottage in a farm setting. Owners are really friendly and always available in case of any problems. Jacuzzi was a great idea and very handy after days out. The owners dogs are the friendliest you will ever meet. We had a brilliant holiday.

Mr F,

We had a lovely time at Hen Ysgubor. Great to have space to move around in my wheelchair. The grandkids (4 and 14 months) loved the dogs and seeing the cows being milked. Very friendly proprietors. Good location with access to so many beautiful beaches and places of interest.

Prof H,

Wow! We will definitely be going back to this beautiful cottage. The warm welcome and comfortable home from home was just what we needed. Who wouldn't want to sit in a hot tub and look out at stunning welsh countryside?

Mrs S,

We had a lovely family holiday. The hosts were friendly and helpful if we ever needed anything and communication was very pleasant and easy but they also gave us plenty of privacy throughout our stay. Cottage was immaculate and extremely comfy and well thought out. Hot tub was amazing too, with a lovely view of the cows and baby calves and it was a very relaxing holiday. We came with two older teenagers and they enjoyed it too (including their own bathrooms!) especially only being half an hour away from New Quay with the dolphin boat trips and fishing trips etc. our daughter also enjoyed horse riding locally near Lampeter. In Lampeter there weren’t many shops but a sainsburys and big coop provided anything we needed. Would definitely recommend to other holiday makers. A lovely place to stay

Mrs C,

Yr Hen Ysgobor is a lovely, spacious cottage in a stunning setting. It's comfortable and well equipped. The location is about a mile or so out of Lampeter in the surrounding hills, and is convenient for so many beautiful spots to visit, such as the coast or Cambrian mountains. We particularly loved sitting in the hot tub watching the red kites and would highly recommend staying here.

Mrs P,

Lovely owners, made to feel very welcome, lovely cosy cottage with log burner and hot tub, near perfect!

Mr C,

Beautiful accomodation with amazing views, lovely hosts and we loved seeing the farm dogs every day, the children loved them. We would definitely come back, thank you for an amazing stay.

Mr W,

Map

Hen Ysgubor is located on an award winning farm 1 mile from the county market town of Lampeter, and only 10 miles from the stunning Ceredigion Coastaline. The Farm has won many prestigious local and national awards for the farming system and has been well documented over many years in the local and national press. The farm has twice been named as the best grassland farm in the United Kingdom and has produced the best silage in Wales not fewer than four times. Other accolades include the cleanest and tidiest farm, most well designed farm buildings and the best lowland farm in Wales.

Lampeter is the home of the oldest University College in Wales and is the oldest degree-awarding institution in Wales and England after Oxford and Cambridge. There is splendid countryside scenery to be enjoyed in the Lampeter area - and wonderful angling on the river Teifi.

Nearby there are many local independent restaurants and pubs that serve fine local produce.

Aberaeron (10 miles) is an architectural gem full of interest. There's a Sea Aquarium, the famous Harbourmaster Restaurant and the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate. Once a busy port with a thriving ship-building history, it is now home to vessels designed for leisure rather than work. It is still a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. There are numerous high quality, local cafes and restaurants and several traditional public houses.
