There's a lawned play area to the front and splendid ‘tiddler’ stream nearby offers children many hours of fun. Every detail in this house has been carefully designed and tastefully finished making it a luxurious retreat for families or a group of friends all year round.

Nestled in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, Esgair Wen is just over 5 miles from the popular tourist attraction of Devil's Bridge. Devil's Bridge is most famously known for the folklore surrounding the 3 stacked bridges that cross over River Mynach and the magnificent waterfalls that can be found along the way. After sightseeing, you can head to the Hafod Hotel or nearby tearooms for a bite to eat or treat yourself to some artisan Welsh chocolate from the award-winning chocolatier. For another great day out, visit Bwlch Nant yr Arian where you'll find a number of scenic walks, mountain biking trails, a children's play area and a chance to witness the daily feeding of the red kites. Reviews

Excellent very high quality accommodation in a peaceful and relaxing location.

Mr D,

Stunning location, beautiful isolated position, great walks, and the beautiful Elan valley was so close, very friendly and helpful owners, the house was great in every way, seeing the stars from the hot tub at night was amazing. Would definitely recommend this property.

Mrs H,

We had a magical stay at this wonderful cottage. The setting was idyllic and one of the reasons we picked it! The hot tub was one of the best we have had in a holiday cottage, and with it having a roof, it allowed us to use it whatever the weather. We would defiantly look at booking this beautiful cottage again!

Mr B,

What a fantastic property. The location is stunning; with the frost you could almost imagine you were in the Mojave desert rather than Wales! Hard to beat sitting in the hot tub looking at the beautiful mountains, enjoying the company of a nearby sheep that had escaped her field, watching the stars (it's a Dark Sky area). The house itself is very cosy and well-equipped; you can tell the owners have put a lot of thought into the property. The beds were very comfortable, nice big shower, etc. There was an issue on our end with the date/time we could arrive, and the owners were absolute stars and so kind. We loved our week there.

Mr K,

Warm, cosy yet spacious cottage. Very well equipped. Beautiful remote setting with panoramic views of the Cambrian Mountains.. Loved everything about it.

Mr S,

We have stayed here twice and will definitely be back. What's not to like? The property is set in an idyllic location; the generous, airy, well-fitted comfortable accommodation is decorated with impeccable taste; the welcome is warm... There is everything you could possibly want from a holiday! Highly recommended.

Mrs R,

Mr D,

An amazing and comfortable cottage in a stunning location. Fantastic views. A great area to explore. Hot tub was much appreciated by us all. Advisable to arrive with food as there aren’t any shops nearby.

Mrs G,

The cottage is fantastic. The location is stunning. It’s a drive from the coast and nearest village with amenities but we’d done our research and knew that so came prepared with supplies. The welcome basket was much appreciated. We loved the hot tub and exploring a part of Wales we’d never visited before.

Mrs H,

Wow! A fabulous cottage with stunning views in an idyllic location. Clean, comfortable and with everything we needed for an amazing holiday! We had a wonderful time and The owners were super helpful. Thank you so much for making our week perfect!

This is an idyllic location and an amazing property that is furnished to the highest quality and for comfort. We return every year. It is relaxing and beautifully isolated. Highly recommend this cottage if you like to be away from the commotion and enjoy the beautiful Mountain landscapes.

Mr J,

A beautiful, comfortable, well appointed cottage in a stunning location. Set in a quiet Cambrian Mountain valley it’s ideal for guests seeking an escape from the world, or as a base for solitary walks in an area that’s steeped in history. Clare is a lovely, relaxed host who made us most welcome.

Mrs R,
