Reviews

The house was immaculate. It was well positioned as access to the dunes and the beach was through the back garden gate. The beach was a five minutes walk away. The house was well equipped with everything one could possibly need. There was even provision for canine visitors, again everything that could possibly e needed. Just bring dog and food. The back garden was completely enclosed so safe to let the dog roam outside. We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend this house to other potential holiday makers.

Mrs G,

We had a wonderful time with our grandchildren. The location is perfect, we were able to walk to the beach and explore the dunes. The house is well stocked and was perfect for our needs

Mr D,

Location great for the beach and all amenities.Clean and well presented, fully equipped .

Mr Philip L,

Cara, Sam, Jules & James Perfect fit, quality house. I loved the beach and all the places near it. It’s a number 1 holiday home.

Past Customer,

Nigel Great location with the dunes and the beach literally out the back gate. Couple of pubs and a well stocked CoOp a 10 minute walk and Porthcawl about a 30 minute walk. Property had everything you needed and more and was really well maintained. Good communication with the owners.

Past Customer,

Ellen Enjoyed a pleasant stay in the house in June 2022. Good facilities, and nice access to the beach, as long as you don't mind a clamber over the sand dunes, and a walk to the sea when the tide is out. Once on the beach, you can see for miles on a clear day, and the house is perfectly located if you enjoy coastal walks.

Past Customer,

Jackie & David We spent a lovely couple of days seeing family and friends. We picked the property for its proximity to Bridgend and so we could spend quality time with our young grandchildren (aged 3 and 7). They were able to stay with us for 3 nights. The property is well equipped and ideal for young children with its spacious enough living room for playing and the barrier for the bed to stop the 3 year old rolling out! We’d certainly consider coming back.

Past Customer,

Henry & Heather A pleasant week and, thankfully, decent weather. Well equipped cottage, no problems – easy access to beach. Enjoyed by both of us.

Past Customer,

Jackie & Steve We have had a lovely holiday here in Tegeirian Cottage. The welsh cakes etc that were waiting for us on arrival were really appreciated. Even the weather was kinf for most of the time, which we used for familiar walks and new ones too. After a difficult year it was good to relax. Your cottage has been the perfect place to do this. Diolch yn fawr iawn

Past Customer,

Tony, June & Jessica Thank you for a lovely weekend. Weather was good and thanks for letting us use your lovely home. Everything is perfect. My daughter who is special needs really likes it down here and asked if we can come back if available. We would like it in half term October

Past Customer,

Simon, Said & boys We came to celebrate our boys birthday and visit family. Sadly the weather was not on our side with storm Eunice. But what we can say is how lovely the house is and all the extras! Having a bed guard, books and games for the kids was amazing. Literally home from home. Very comfy living. Enjoyed a very windy walk to the beach. Clean, tidy, comfy! What more do you want! Will definitely come again when the weather is better to enjoy it even more.

Past Customer,

Jane & Paul Had an absolutely wonderful time here. Could not wish for anything more/ Catriona & Stphen have thought of everything and it is like home from home. It is only a 10 minute walk into the 3 pubs. The Globe does lovely food. Ancient Britain is very quaint and the Jolly Sailor has a nice atmosphere. Would recommend to book a table in high season. We visited Ogmore by Sea which is a 20 minute drive. Not much there but lovely views, also Llantwit Majpr has spectacular sea views and coastal walks, about 30 minute drive. McArthur Glen Shopping outlet is a 20 minute drive, great shops,

Past Customer,

Rob, Maria & Caius We had a lovely Time. Walked the dunes to the beach. Spent all time on beach. Cosy warm home snug and quiet. Left the car on the drive. Lots of folks said hello, warm friendly owners. Did not see or hear anyone – heaven. Thank you. Caius loved his time building sand castles, running to the sea. Loved meeting his brother and sister at Trecco Bay car park. They all got soaked in the sea

Past Customer,

Hawthorne’s Really comfortable little house with everything we need. Home from home. Dinner at the Jolly Sailor was delicious. Drove to Bileh Mountain, fab view ending up in Nottage at the Farmer’s Inn. Enormous Sunday roast, loads of meat and plentiful veg. Drove to Rhosili via The Mumbles = lovely scenery, long drive but worth it. Really enjoyed a visit to Ogmore Castle, Southerndown and Cowbridge, pleasant main street. Good deal lunch at The Duke of Wellington in the main street. If you enjoy walking a visit to Margam Park is good. Good dinner at The Globe, typical pub food but was good. Staff very friendly. Spectacular castle near Trapp. Had a little rain overnight but otherwise weather excellent. A very happy holiday. Thank you Catriona & Stephen for letting us stay.

Past Customer,

Claire, Andy, David (6) & Reuben (3) We had such a brilliant time here. My littlest (3) asked if he could stay forever! Having the dunes and beach to explore when we arrived was fantastic. We had some many lovely trips in the area too – the National Showcaves, with dinosaurs, and Mountain View Ranch and the four waterfalls walk being our favourites. The weather was perfect for lots of time on the beach too. All the really thoughtful touches for children really made the stay extra comfortable. The games, children cutlery and bed guard was really useful. We had a fantastic time – thank you!

Enjoyed a range of scenic costal walks and the best fish and chips at Beale’s in Porthcawl. House provides easy access to the beach as well. Lovely restaurant overlooking Rest Bay with great sea views. On a wet day we found a retail shopping outlet near Sainsburys in Bridgend. Great choice of shops and even open to 6pm on a Sunday. We will definitely be returning, just not enough time.

Past Customer,

Sally, Mark, Oliver & Daisy Lovely base for the beach. Had amazing weather and brilliant days out exploring local places. Would recommend Margam County Park and family Go Karts. Rest Bay beach for surfing/body boarding.

Past Customer,

Ian & Helen Had a wonderful stay House brilliant, village brilliant, locals friendly. Didn’t get to see and do all we wanted but still had plenty to do. Jolly Sailor does magnificent food – if they are fully booked they will do you a take-away. Just take your own plates/dishes etc. Would love to return in better times.

Past Customer,

Our stay was very great. We felt very comfortable in this little house. The people are really nice and polite around here. We enjoyed the beach a lot. Best wishes from Germany.

Past Customer,

A lovely cottage, and the owners are very friendly. There was a welcome pack when we arrived - with a bottle of Schloer, some Welsh cakes and tea and coffee sachets. Milk was proveded in the fridge. There were loads of games, and books for times if the weather is not good, and full information for using the appliances, and a file with places to go. When we arrived the cottage was immaculate. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this cottage to my friends and family.
