Reviews

The best holiday cottage we had the pleasure of staying in.Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend to anyone. We will be booking again.

Mr D,

A lovely modern cosy cottage, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Nothing was too much trouble from the owners. We had a fabulous stay. The lake (with water sports) is only 10 mins walk one way and the village is right next door in the other direction. Scenery is lovely. Great if you like walking. Everything else is a drive away but there is white water rafting close by and zip line not too far. We drove to Barmouth about 45 mins away.

Mrs J,

We honestly can't praise this perfect little holiday cottage enough. It was spotlessly clean, with a fresh modern decor. There were lovely welcoming touches-like some fresh flowers, Welsh cakes (which honestly lasted about 5 minutes after our 5 and a half hour drive) and a packet of waffles. We met Manon and her parents in law, who were all so friendly and sweet. They have a great knowledge of the area too. The cottage has everything we needed-a well equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher and washing machine, cleaning products and tea, coffee and a pint of milk), a comfortable living area and bedroom and a modern bathroom. The shower was really good too. Parking outside is ample and you can see your vehicle from the property. The cottage is well placed. Literally less than 5 minutes walk to Bala town centre and within easy reach of lots of attractions. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return one day.

Mrs L,

Excellent accomodation - the quality of finish and facilities provided were exceptional. Manon and Gareth were very gracious and welcoming hosts, as was the extended family.

Mrs D,

I’m a person who is up at the crack of dawn, looking to do this that and the other. I’ve never felt so relaxed on any holiday before. Just perfect.

Mr A,

Lovely, cosy cottage with all you need for a perfect stay. Convenient off road parking next to cottage.

Mrs E,

We had an amazing time and loved the cottage. The owners we friendly and very welcoming and approachable. Will go back again

Miss B,

Spotlessly clean modern cottage. Made for a very comfortable stay. All communications ahead of the stay were clear and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Mr T,

The cottage is conveniently located just five minutes from Bala lake in one direction and five minutes from the centre of the High street in the other. It is well equipped, comfortable and has lots of character. Car parking is immediately outside the cottage.

Mr P,

High standard complex more than most people would expect.

Mr M,

Accommodation was spotlessly clean and plenty of tea, coffee and milk in welcome pack. Located at the bottom of the town with plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops for all your needs.

Mr Q,

Lovely clean cottage conversions with friendly helpful hosts and very good facilities, ideally and quietly situated at the end of the Main street close to a variety of shops, bars and eating places and only minutes from the lake. Highly recommend the Stori bar/shop where you can sample or purchase a large selection of Welsh beers, ciders, spirits and wines within 2 minutes walk. They even produce their very own (and very nice) gin at the back of the shop. Great value and one of the best cottage accommodation we have experienced. The location is also ideal for exploring north or mid Wales. Will certainly return.

Mr R,

The outside area could be made more comfortable, chairs were too hard and straight back to be comfortable. More of a barbecue area too. The town itself is not a place for holiday makers in the evening.

Mrs Lorraine M,

This was a very enjoyable holiday venue. The cottage is an excellent place to stay and we enjoyed the whole week, especially with the fine weather.

Mr Jeff H,

This is such a lovely property, situated right near the high street with everything you could need. There is a beautiful walk nearby around bala lake, we would definitely recommend this property for those who want to explore North Wales.

Mr S,

Map

Located within an enclosed yard on the outskirts of Bala market town, Côr Llew Coch offers a private setting with the benefits of being within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops and bars. Part of a stunning conversion of barns on what was previously the owners' family farm, you also have the option of bringing family or friends along to the two other 5 star cottages on site (sleeping 4 and 6).

The lovely Welsh market town of Bala offers a wide range of amenities, a quirky bottle shop and tap room where you can enjoy Welsh beers. There is also a Leisure Centre with a fitness room, indoor swimming pool and slide. Amongst the best places to eat (all within walking distance) are the White Lion Hotel, Y Plas Coch, Bistro Y Cyfnod, Plas yn Dre, Bala Spice and Y Cwrt. Also worth a short drive is Yr Eagles in Llanuwchllyn (5 miles) and Lake Vyrnwy Restaurant (13 miles). Some of the best pubs in town include The White Lion, Y Plas Coch and Y Cwrt (all within a 5 minute walk).

Bala is home to Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), the largest natural lake in Wales, with a range of watersports such as canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. You can also enjoy a steam train ride along its shores, all the way to Llanuwchllyn and back, as well as a circular route that's suitable for walking and cycling. The National White Water Rafting Centre is also within 4 miles, whilst other activities nearby includes high speed go-carting circuit in Cerrigydrudion (12 miles), the famous Zip Wire and Bounce Below (18 miles) and Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre (23 miles).

Other popular days out around Snowdonia includes Llechwedd Slate Caverns (18 miles), Portmeirion (25 miles) and the beautiful beaches along the coast. There are also plenty of other market towns to explore, such as Dolgellau and Ruthin - not to mention the rewarding walks around Snowdonia National Park.
