Description

A gorgeous barn conversion that’s perfect for a romantic retreat in beautiful Bala, home to the largest natural lake in Wales. Set in the heart of the market town, enjoy browsing the local restaurants and bars on the doorstep (0.1 miles) or simply stroll to the lakeside cafes at Llyn Tegid (0.3 miles) and enjoy a scenic walk with your morning coffee. For golfers, Bala Golf Course is just 0.5 miles away. Take a ride on Bala Lake Railway (5.5 miles), canoe across Afon Tryweryn at the National White Water Centre (4 miles) or visit the world-famous mountain bike centre at Coed y Brenin (24 miles). There’s lots to see and do within a 20-mile radius including Zip World, Bounce Below, Harlech’s castle and sandy beach, St David’s links golf course and the seaside town of Barmouth. This really is an all-year-round destination.

This stylish barn conversion is full of period features, original beams and all the thoughtful extras to enhance your stay such as underfloor heating. The spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is complete with a bespoke corner kitchen offering a lovely space to rustle up a meal.  The dining table is perfectly positioned to enjoy a romantic meal together. After dinner, relax on the sumptuous sofas, snuggle up and watch a film on the TV or plan your next holiday activity. At the end of your adventurous day, retreat upstairs to the super-king-size bedroom boasting unique features designed for your comfort and with a great night’s sleep in mind. Make the most of the chic bathroom with a bubble bath for a leisurely start to the day or a refreshing shower,  ready for the full day out ahead.

Outside there is a patio to the front of the property facing the former farm courtyard with bistro table and chairs, perfect for afternoon tea or a sundowner, with a bench for morning coffee at the back accessed from the patio doors.

We had a lovely stay, cottage was beautifully presented, very cosy, host checked in that all was well, good selection of shops within walking distance, we will definitely be retuning!

Great space, new, fresh and has everything you could need. We worked from there for 3 days and the wifi held up enough for both of us to be on separate calls. The dressing table had a TV next to it which had HDMI ports, so it was perfect! 60 seconds from a Co-op, fuel, and the best craft beer bar.

The Cottage was really lovely, I’ve stayed in many over the years and can honestly say this was the most clean and well presented of them all, really convenient for Snowden and surrounding areas, plenty of pubs and restaurants in Bala and if you enjoy a beer there’s a lovely little ale house about three minutes walk from the cottage, please enjoy I certainly did.

We spent a lovely week in this cottage. The weather was not on our side but luckily this cottage made up for this. So after we had braved the challenging elements outside we had a lovely cosy place to warm up and relax in. There are lots of places to walk or bike in the nearby area. We did a lot of running and there is even a park run 5 minutes walk from the cottage.
