Reviews

Our stay here was lovely - cottage very comfortable and had everything we needed. Nice to have milk in the fridge when we arrived & tea available! The owners were really friendly & welcoming. The location is great for being able to walk into Bala / to the lake and also easily explore the area. We would really recommend and hope to go back ourselves.

Mrs N,

Excellent accommodation, just at the end of the Main Street so close to all amenities but surprisingly quiet. Just needed more time to enjoy everything! Will definitely be booking again soon!

Mr F,

A delightful cottage. Well equipped, clean and quiet. The owners are nearby and very helpful. A great base to visit sites in North Wales. Hot tub lovely after a day out.

Mrs A,

Cottage is fabulous, spotlessly clean everything you need and more. Hot tub is great after a days walking. Perfect location for local amenities, shops cafes etc. Will definitely return.

Mrs T,

The cottage is absolutely perfect. The welcome pack what a lovely gesture. Owners were very welcoming. We absolutely loved our stay and the hot tub was a added bonus which we needed after climbing snowdon. Would highly recommend this property to anybody that would like to stay in the Snowdonia National Park. Thanks again we had a fabulous time.

Mrs K,

We had a fantastic weekend staying at this property and are already looking forward to returning. The photos don't do it justice (I agree with another reviewer), this is a lovely cottage with a luxury feel to it. Everything you need is on hand and we were very grateful to the owner who kindly let us borrow a high chair (a great one with tray that kept our 1 year old secure) and travel cot which was all set up for our arrival. We felt very relaxed in the hot tub looking out at the beautiful view and loved the proximity to Bala (on the doorstop). Highly recommended!

Mrs C,

Had a fabulous stay at this cottage. I can't fault anything about it and will most likely be back for another stay.

Miss S,

Y Bala is a fantastic location for a holiday, with lots of activities to entertain people of different ages. The cottage is superbly located at one end of the high street, literally minutes away from food and amenities. The lake is only 300m away. At the same time, it is quiet and faces an open field. Lovely to enjoy the hot tub after a long day, watching cows grazing. Owners are very helpful and diligent in keeping property in good condition. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to be back!

Mrs L,

Absolutely beautiful every thing you could possible need, home from home ,definitely returning

Mrs H,

Manon and Gareth were fantastic hosts and were keen to ensure that our stay would be the best it could possibly be. The accommodation was first class with everything you need for a great stay. The welcome pack was a very nice touch too. The location in the very heart of North Wales cannot be beat with local shops, pubs and restaurants a two minute walk away. However, the place we stayed backed onto open fields, so is very quiet. The hot tub is a fantastic bonus. Overall, it is a wonderful place to stay and would recommend it to anyone. We'll be back again next year I am sure.

Mr G,

Gorgeous cottage in a fabulous location. Close to the town which has everything you could possibly need, shops, bakery, pubs, restaurants, takeaways etc. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The cottage itself has everything you need including lots of little extras you may not normally get. Hot tub was fabulous! Really enjoyed our stay. Thankyou!

Mrs K,

An absolutely gorgeous holiday at Stabal Llew Coch! Gareth and Manon were fantastic hosts and super helpful with any queries we had. The hot tub with fantastic views was just wonderful to relax in, and a highlight was when the cows in the field came right up to the fence to say hi. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and clearly lots of thought has been put into this holiday let. Would definitely recommend to anybody! Thank you Gareth and Manon.

Mrs F,

A beautiful cottage in a great location. Immaculate accommodation equipped with everything you could possibly need. Hot tub was enjoyed by the all with beautiful views. The location of this cottage is fantastic with so much to do and places to visit within a short drive. Gareth and Manon were great hosts, friendly and welcoming and on hand for any questions. Would not hesitate to recommend this property or to return for another break.

Mrs F,

We’ve just returned from a lovely week at this fabulous property. It was the best equipped cottage we’ve ever stayed in and the owners couldn’t have been any more helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean and exactly as described. The location is ideal for exploring North Wales and the local area. The hot tub is a lovely addition to relax in at the end of each day. We’d highly recommend this property and hope to return one day.

Mrs A,

The property is stylish, clean and very well equipped. The owners said hello and let us know they were nearby if we needed anything, which was nice of them. It's on the edge of Bala, so near to shops but also has a view onto green fields and hills. It would be helpful to have a ramp up to the door as the steps are a barrier for someone with limited mobility.

Mr Ged W,

Stabal Llew Coch is a lovely cottage and includes all you need for a comfortable stay. We used it as a base for touring North Wales and it was delightful to come back to the hot tub after a long day out. Bala high street is a short walk away stocked with bars and restaurants. We'd highly recommend you book to stay here.

Mrs L,

Map

This beautiful Bala self catering, semi-detached cottage is brilliantly located. Whilst being within a 5 minute walk of all the town’s facilities, it also benefits from the privacy of an enclosed yard that was previously used by the owners as a farm yard. This somehow manages to create a calm countryside setting even though you are more or less in the centre of town.

The ‘homely’ Welsh market town of Bala offers a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There is also a Leisure Centre (fitness room, indoor swimming pool and slide) just 500 meters away. Some of the best pubs in town include The White Lion, Y Plas Coch and Y Cwrt (all within a 5 minute walk).

Amongst the best places to eat (all within walking distance) are the White Lion Hotel, Y Plas Coch, Plas yn Dre, Bala Spice and Y Cwrt. Also worth a short drive is Yr Eagles in Llanuwchllyn (5 miles) and Lake Vyrnwy Restaurant (13 miles). However, because you’re on holiday in a cottage with hot tub facilities, you might prefer to have a takeaway delivered to your door every night.

Regarded by many as the adventure capital of Wales, Bala offers world class watersports provision, from Bala Lake (500 meters away) with a range of activities such as canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and gorge walking to the National White Water Rafting Centre (4 miles). There is also a high speed go-carting circuit in Cerrigydrudion (12 miles), the famous Zip Wire and Bounce Below (18 miles) and numerous other attractions such as Tree Tops Adventure in Betws y Coed and Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre and Go Ape offering great days out.

If you prefer to relax on holiday, there are numerous picturesque mountain and lakeside walks nearby, not to mention the cycle route and scenic narrow gauge railway along Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), the largest natural lake in Wales. Or what about a night out in the cinema across the road or simply relaxing at your cottage with hot tub, wine and a good book. Your Bala self catering cottage also provides a great central base to explore the whole of Snowdonia and North Wales. Llechwedd Slate Caverns (18 miles), Portmeirion (25miles) and the Welsh Highland Railway (27 miles) are just some of many highly recommended days out.
