To Summarise - a word from the owners...

The local area has so much to offer and you can have some amazing day trips, but we really love life in our little patch of Mid Wales and feel that you can have the most memorable adventures right here where the pace of life slows down and you feel at one with nature. Climb a hill, watch the sunrise or sunset, build a den, dam a brook, listen to the birds singing, play pooh stick on the little bridge down the lane, read a book in the open air, fill a sketchbook with drawings and paintings, the list goes on.

Reviews

The best cottage in the world! Stunning and very thoughtful design, very clean, spacious and quiet. The owners took care of every single detail. It's a shame we only stayed there 3 nights, as the walks around are so beautiful. Even if you don't want to go out anywhere, the space if perfect for resting. Me and my friend felt relaxed the moment we arrived. And the pol table was such a great fun! It's definitely my favourite place now!

Miss T,

We stayed in Beudy for a week in February. A beautifully presented barn conversion which was charming and warm throughout and the views of the countryside are breathtakingly amazing. Very comfortable accommodation with lovely furnishings (the most fantastic bed in the main bedroom) and kitchen well equipped for cooking meals and the added bonus of a cosy log burner to use. The location is fabulous, with walks on your doorstep and as the village is not a through route, there were very few vehicles to navigate even if walking along the roads. There are plenty of hills so the walks would be challenging for some. We made very good use of the pool table, which we really appreciated and is a great addition to the property. The nearest pub is a fair distance away, as is the groceries shop & town for takeaways, so you need to use the car or take what you need with you for your stay. The barn owners Rhodri & Elinor are very friendly and are close at hand if you needed anything, so although the barn is in a remote area, it doesn't feel like you are alone. We had a most relaxing time in this beautiful cottage and would definitely book again.

Mr P,

Had a delightful stay with my partner. The cottage was so cosy and welcoming and had everything that we needed. Rodri the host was very welcoming and gave us helpful ideas for our stay. We didn't want to come home. We will definitely be returning again. Thank you from Tony & Marie.

Miss B,

Our favourite Welsh cottage to date! We will be back.

Mrs R,

it was beautiful and so lovely for a weeks stay.

Miss H,

An absolute gem of a property. The house is glorious and the views around the property are every bit as good. From the log burner to the biggest bed I’ve ever seen this place is amazing

Mr M,

Beautiful setting and peaceful, relaxing place to stay. Lovely shortish walks from the property to the nearby hills.

Mr M,

Very comfortable, relaxing & peaceful barn conversion, with wonderful views of the mountains! Would highly recommend and will certainly be back!

Mrs A,

A real gem in the middle of the Welsh countryside. So quiet and away from everything one can really relax. The accommodation and location were superb. Hopefully we will stay again.

Dr S,

Beautifully appointed cottage in a fabulous location. Owners friendly and helpful. Peaceful but close enough to beaches and other places of interest. Highly recommended!

Mr M,

Beudy is a fabulous, sumptuous barn conversion where everything has been done to an exceptionally high standard, with a great deal of care and thought being given to the comfort of those staying there. The location is ideal for those wishing for peace and tranquility. This section of the barn can be rented alone or in combination with the larger part of the barn, through an inter-connecting door. We recommend it unreservedly.

Mrs T,

Map

This semi-detached cottage is part of an amazing barn conversion in a blissfully quiet location. Lovingly restored and renovated by its owners, National Trust Ranger and Art teacher, Rhodri and Elinor, who will be sure to give you a warm Welsh welcome. Enjoy the far-reaching views, watch red kites from your window, or explore Glyndwr’s Way, just half a mile from the barn.

Surrounded by fields and organic farmland yet easily accessible, just 2 miles off the A470, and 7 miles from the vibrant market town of Machynlleth, the Ancient Capital of Wales. Enjoy the array of independent shops, pubs and welcoming cafes, as well as the oldest street market in Britain every Wednesday. Head out to the beautiful beach at Aberdyfi (17 miles), or seek out adventures in the Snowdonia National Park in less than 15 minutes.

Amongst the best places to eat in the area are Number Twenty One Bistro and Wynnstay Hotel in Machynlleth (7 miles), Brigands Inn in Mallwyd (9 miles), Glan yr Afon in Pennal and for traditional pub food, Llew Coch in Dinas Mawddwy (both 11 miles). For take-away, Hennighans' Fish & Chip Shop of the Year is recommended, as well as Penrhos Arms. For fine dining, Ynyshir Hall (13 miles) has to be the one, with accolades such as a Michelin Star and 5 AA Rosettes, as well as appearing at no. 12 in the Good Food Guide 2017/18 and no. 15 in Harden's Best UK Restaurants 2017/2018. The nearest good pub can be found in Glantwymyn (3.5 miles), called Dyfi Valley Hotel.

Talyllyn narrow gauge railway offers a great day out, as does the Centre for Alternative Technology, a range of legendary castles (such as Castell y Bere and Harlech), Ynys Hir Nature Reserve and Dyfi Osprey Project, King Arthur’s Labyrinth and Corris Craft Centre. Also highly recommended is Coed y Brenin's mountain biking centre and a trip to Aberystywth (home to the National Library of Wales, the largest Arts Centre in Wales etc). On the way home, treat yourself to a fine meal and a film at Libanus 1877 (Boutique cinema and restaurant) in Borth.
