Description
Enjoy the complete privacy and far reaching countryside views from this detached Mid Wales retreat. For secluded cottage holidays where you can escape the hustle and bustle of every day life, this is the perfect setting. A great, central base to explore Mid Wales and beyond, with the A470 (the main route that connects North and South Wales) being just over a mile away. However, with your own coffee machine, two woodburners, tranquility and breath-taking views all around, you might just choose to sit back, relax and do absolutely nothing. The Cottage has been awarded gold for cleanliness for the Second Year.
Ground Floor
Lounge - a spacious room with underfloor heating and patio doors opening up to stunning countryside views, which also includes a kitchenette. Comfortable seating in front of an oak beamed inglenook with a welcoming woodburner, TV and DVD player. High ceiling and exposed stone walls - a lovely room to enjoy quality time with your partner, family or friends.
Kitchen and Dining Room - a large, oak beamed room with a Welsh slate floor. The dining table takes centre stage in front of another beautiful inglenook and woodburner, as well as a large picture window overlooking the valley. At the far end is a well equipped kitchen with a electric hob, electric oven, fridge and microwave.
Central utility room equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer, drying rack, dishwasher and table top freezer.
Ground floor shower room with a double shower, WC, wash basin, shaver point and heated towel rail.
Upstairs
Master bedroom with a king size bed, luxurious bedding and beautiful countryside views. Large mirror, prints by a local artist - Ian Phillips, chair, bedside tables and lamps and built in wardrobes on the landing.
Double bedroom also with amazing views over the countryside. Chest of drawers with mirror above, prints by Ian Phillips, chair and bedside cabinets with lamps. Built in wardrobe on the landing.
Single bedroom with an oak framed bed, bedside cabinet, lamp and chair. This room also enjoys magnificent countryside views.
The upstairs bathroom includes a bath with shower above, WC and washbasin. Mirror with light and shaver point.

Lawn area and a large patio area with outdoor dining table, chairs and BBQ set. And, of course, a magnificent view. Secluded cottage holidays don't come any better than this.

Map
Beautiful and detached, this Mid Wales retreat offer complete privacy and amazing countryside views. With all the benefits for secluded cottage holidays, Foel Fach also enjoys good access and is only 1.1 mile from the A470, which is the main route connecting North and South Wales. The surrounding farm land is owned by the cottage owners who live on the farm, less than half a mile down the lane from your cottage.
Central to the villages of Llanbrynmair (3 miles) and the “Laura Ashley” village of Carno (3 miles), both with good amenities. Llanbrynmair offers a shop, pub, playground and an unique visitor centre called Machinations that's home to the only permanent exhibition of contemporary Automata (mechanical moving models) in the UK. It also has a cafe, soft play area, rabbit village, gift and toy shop. In the other direction, Carno offers a good local shop, post office and pub which is also recommended for its food. Also recommended is the Penrhos Arms in Cemaes (9 miles), Wynnstay and Bistro Number 21 in Machynlleth (13 miles).
The slightly bigger village of Caersws is also within 10 miles where you will find a wide range of amenities from shops to pubs, a chip shop, garage and railway station with connections across Wales and beyond. The charming market towns of Machynlleth (13 miles), Newtown (16 miles) and Llanidloes (17 miles) offer many unique and independent shops, good country markets, cafes etc. Newtown also has a good local theatre and traditional cinema.
Popular attractions in the area include the red kites, Hafren Forest, Clywedog Reservoir and Dam, Snowdonia National Park (13 miles), the largest wind farm in Europe and the Centre for Alternative Technology (14 miles). Amongst popular activities in the Area are the Forest Experience Rally School in Carno and within a few miles there is pony trekking, quad trekking, golf, cycling, clay pigeon shooting, narrow gauge railways, bird watching, walking, sailing and fishing. Lovely beaches within easy reach at Aberdyfi and Borth (about 40 minutes).
Walking

- Glyndwr's Way is a long distance footpath in Mid Wales that was granted National Trail status in the year 2000. 2 miles from the cottage.
- Aran Fawddwy (18 miles) and Cadair Idris (24 miles) are the two nearest Snowdonia mountains if you wish to aim high.

- Llyn Clywedog (Lake) near Staylittle: £16 a day. Permits from Reeds Garage in Machynlleth / Newsagents next door to Spar in Llanidloes / Fishing Equipment Shop in Newtown. 13 miles to the lake

- Dyfi Mountain Biking – All routes start from Machynlleth. 13 miles

- Clywedog Sailing Club - 6 mile lake, open to all types of non powered watercraft from canoes and sailboards to dinghies, cruisers and keelboats. 15.5 miles.
