In an area of outstanding Natural beauty and wilderness Llanwrtyd Wells is a Victorian Spa town. The town itself includes several restaurants, cafes , pubs and local shops but has become famous in recent years as the home of the World Alternative Games and several huge events such as the Man v Horse Race, bog snorkelling, wife carrying, chariot racing and many more.

Ideal for walking, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, bird watching or just a countryside break. There are many mountain biking events ran from the Town with the nearby Irfon Forest providing some ideal trails. For road cycling the infamous Devils Staircase climb is located here. This is one of the toughest climbs in the UK and was a key part of the old Milk Race. With the river Irfon and many tributaries there is excellent wild trout fishing and runs of sewin and salmon, while nearby Llyn Brianne also offers still water fishing and water sports activities.
