Description

Wonderful views of woodland and pasture across the Clywedog valley await you at this bright, modern holiday cottage at the foot of a scenic mountain road to the Clywedog Reservoir. This cosy cottage features well-lit and tastefully decorated living spaces, a modern kitchen, a comfortable superking bedroom with flexible sleeping arrangements and extensive views across the valley, ponds, stream and garden that can be enjoyed from almost every room and in every season. 

A fantastic location for walking enthusiasts, the historic riverside town Llanidloes boasts over 30 picture-perfect walking trails of varying length around Hafren Fforest woodlands, Llyn Clywedog lake and surrounding countryside as well as many local eateries to sample after your scenic adventures. The peaceful atmosphere in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains brings with it an abundance of wildlife including red kites, buzzards and even rare sightings of ospreys. For a fantastic experience, take a drive to one of Elan Valley's Dark Sky Discovery Sights, and gaze up at the star-filled skies in wonder.

An ideal secret secluded get away for couples - Beautiful calming colour scheme, decorated with unique arts and crafts designed and made by the owner. Tranquil bedroom with a Super king size bed, welsh  wool blankets and large windows and patio door over looking a super patio with flower boxes and a lovely country view beyond. A spacious bathroom with a rain shower made for two! The well designed lounge  also has large windows and a patio door leading to a patio with all year round dining table and chairs and two very comfortable sun loungers for soaking up the sun, enjoying the beautiful garden and the  tranquility of the welsh countryside or for stargazing at night. The lounge has a very comfortable Ercol sofa, twinkly lights on the mantlepiece and a real flame effect electric  stove which sets a magical and very  romantic atmosphere. With in a five minute walk there are some lovely  pubs and hotels to have a special dinner and night out. Lots of very scenic drives and walks from the door.

Ground Floor

  • Living/Dining Area: Bright, tastefully furnished living area with Smart TV, Optiflame wood burner, dining area for 2 people and relaxing garden views out across the valley. 
  • Bedroom: Comfortable super king bedroom (can be made as 2 singles - please request at time of booking) with fitted wardrobe, bedside tables, bedroom chair, patio doors out to garden and extensive views.
  • Shower Room: Large walk-in rainfall shower, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and mirror with USB/shaver socket. 

Garden

  • Large paved patio with garden furniture and extensive views across the valley, adjacent ponds, stream and garden. 
  • Charcoal BBQ available in the summer months.

Thank you for a perfect Easter getaway! After seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle, we found exactly what we needed in this beautiful cottage. The space was immaculately clean, tidy, and thoughtfully furnished throughout. The quiet, comfortable, and serene atmosphere allowed us to truly relax, and the views from every window were simply wonderful. Helen, you were the perfect host - so informative, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed lovely walks and a memorable long hike in Hafren forest during our stay. The cottage had everything one could possibly ask for, with every detail carefully considered. Having stayed in many cottages over the years, we can honestly say this is definitely the best we've experienced. These three nights were truly special, and we leave with beautiful memories. A genuinely lovely place to stay! A perfect base for the gorgeous local sights and activities (the walks are so good, and Powis castle is a nice day out), and a really warm and comfortable place to relax and just stay in watching the birds. We had such a good week.

We had a lovely stay. The flat is nicely positioned, very comfortable and tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The bed is a comfortable and spacious zip and link and the bathroom is lovely. The garden is beautiful - a real tribute to Helen and Paul. We loved the thoughtful touches, for example, the binoculars, that helped us appreciate the wildlife even more. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

What a great week at Nyth Bryn Haul. The owners were the perfect hosts! We used the cottage as a base to do the first few stages of the Wye Valley Walk. On our rest days we enjoyed watching the birds in the garden (from the perfectly positioned sofa) and exploring the shops cafes and pubs of Llandidlos.
