Description
Surrounded by scenic countryside, Pwllyn is a spacious country cottage with hot tub, Wales’ second largest National Park nearby, and plenty of activities, historical landmarks and attractions on its doorstep. 2 miles from Builth Wells in Mid Wales and walking distance to the local pub at Cilmery. Enjoy walking and cycling in the Brecon Beacons, watersports and fishing on the River Wye, a day out in Hay on Wye - the second hand book capital of the world and the Showground in Builth Wells for various events throughout the year.
Ground Floor
The large entrance leads to the kitchen containing an electric cooker, hob and extractor, fridge/freezer and microwave oven. It has a long kitchen table with chairs on a flagstone floor. Located next to the kitchen is a toilet with wash basin.
The comfortable carpeted lounge is accessed from the entrance hall and has a sizable window overlooking the garden and fields beyond. It has two settees, a gas 'coal effect' stove on a stone hearth and a TV/DVD.
Upstairs
A wooden staircase from the entrance hall leads to the upstairs landing and on to the four bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 has a king size bed with en-suite facilities.
Bedroom 2 and 3 are both beamed single bedrooms with a small chest of drawers each.
Bedroom 4 has a double bed and chest of drawers and free standing wardrobe.
There is also a separate shower room (inc shaving point).
Garden
Patio area at the front and garden to the rear of cottage with hot tub for sole use of the property. BBQ set also provided. Wales' beautiful countryside surrounds the cottage with views in all directions.
Additional Information
All three cottages on site can be opened out into one large cottage sleeping up to 19. Ideal for large families and groups.
There is a shared laundry/drying room with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink.
Pet-friendly - maximum 2 dog (per property). There is a small charge of £20 for the week & £10 for short breaks (payable to owner on arrival).

The hot tub is available to use until 11.00pm. Please note the hot tub is not available from 9am on day of departure.

Hafan Llewelyn holiday cottage is set on a scenic 60 acre farm, a short walking distance from the local pub and train station in Cilmery and 2 miles from Builth Wells. Very close to this cottage with hot tub, Wales' last native Prince of direct descent, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, was slain in a skirmish by soldiers in the service of Edward I of England, on 11 December 1282. A memorial stone to Llywelyn ap Gruffudd was erected on the site in 1956 and serves as the focal point for the annual remembrance day.
The cottage is situated close to the Royal Welsh Showground, the Elan Valley Dams and an excellent 18 hole golf course. Many other activities are catered for locally including canoeing and fishing on the River Wye, mountain biking, horse riding and walking in the Brecon Beacons. There are also numerous good eating places in the vicinity serving local produce.
Golf
Builth Wells Golf Club presents a fair challenge to golfers of all levels. It is attractively laid out in splendid surroundings and is a comfortable walk. 2 miles
Horse Riding
There are many interesting bridal paths in the vicinity. There will also be stables on site in the near future, enabling guests to bring their own horses.
Walking & Cycling
This area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with routes such as the Wye Valley Walk (2 miles), Epynt Way (5 miles), Brecon Beacons National Park (16 miles south) and the Elan Valley (16 miles north).
Water Sports
The river Wye (2 miles) is popular as a navigable river with canoeists. Llangorse Lake, Pontsticill Reservoir (Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club), the river Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal also offer opportunities for water sport.
Fishing
