Description

Large group accommodation in the Brecon Beacons sleeping up to 25 people. This gorgeous farm includes a farmhouse and 2 cottages that can all be rented as one entire secluded complex (pets are allowed in only 1 of the cottages). With 2 hot tubs, large gardens, extensive grounds, games room, fishing rights and stunning views this Group accommodation in the Brecon Beacons is ideal for a large gathering or special occasion including birthdays, reunions, family get-togethers, and weddings.

This property is made up of three self-catering cottages which can be booked individually or part of this group. Take a look at Farmhouse (sleeps 8), Barn (sleeps 11), and Cottage (sleeps 6) for more information on each individual cottage. The Detached farmhouse is across the yard from the Barn and Cottage that adjoin each other. The farm is quiet and secluded and located about 1 mile from the quiet rural village of Cray, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons.


10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. These are made up of Farmhouse, Barn and Cottage.

This whole farm is organic and is run within the Glastir sustainable land management scheme. Homemade honey and other organic produce can be available (in season)


Unit 1

Ground Floor

Kitchen / dining room - Traditional farmhouse kitchen and large dining table. Fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs to seat 8 comfortably.

Lounge - Wood burning stove within traditional feature fireplace. TV and DVD player.

Second lounge / reading area . An ideal children's area, or perfect escape for adults to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Utility room with sink and WC.


Upstairs

Bedroom 1 - King size bed.

Bedroom 2 - King size bed.

Bedroom 3 - Double bed.

Bedroom 4 - Double bed.

Master bathroom - Bath with separate shower unit, sink and WC.

Bathroom 2 - WC, sink and shower unit.

Ground Floor

Large kitchen / dining room - Fully equipped kitchen including large fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric hob and 8 ring gas hob. Table and chairs to seat 12 comfortably.

Lounge - Stunning 12 seater sofa, with wood burning stove within traditional feature fireplace. TV and DVD player.

Second lounge / reading area with own TV and comfy sofas. An ideal children's area, or perfect escape for adults to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Utility room with sink, washing machine, and WC with large shower.



Upstairs

Bedroom 1 - King size bed and single bed, TV and dressing table. Steps lead into the large en-suite with bath, separate shower unit and WC.

Bedroom 2 - King size bed and double bed with TV ( In addition to their own entrances, bedrooms 2 and 3 have a lockable inter-connecting door )

Bedroom 3 - King size bed and TV.

Bedroom 4 - Double bed and TV.

Master bathroom - Bath with overhead shower, sink and WC.



Unit 3

Ground Floor

Lounge - Comfy sofas and stylish wood burner and TV.

Cloakroom - WC and washbasin

Kichen and dining room - Fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, electric hob and cooker, fridge / freezer. Dining table with seating for 6.


Upstairs

Bedroom 1 - King size bed and double bed in a family style room, TV.

Bedroom 2 - King size bed with TV.

Master bathroom - Bath with seperate shower unit, washbasin and WC.


Outside

Extensive grounds, with lawns, 2 hot tubs, games room, trampoline , built in brick bbq and stylish garden furniture.


Additional Information

  • No pets allowed in 2 of the units but 1 is pet friendly. The Cottage (1 dog max at £20 per stay).
  • Bed linen and bath towels provided.
  • Cot and high chair available. Please bring your own cot linen.
  • Heating and electricity included.
  • Wifi - Please note this is rural broadband and may not be as fast as what you're used to.
  • Plenty of off road private parking.
  • 2 Hot Tubs - ( Not to be used after 22.00 ). Please note that we empty, clean and refill all hot tubs after every stay, therefore your hot tub may take up to 12 hours to reach the required temperature.
  • The hot tub is provided on site for guests own pleasure and is not reflected in the charge of the property. Owners reserve the right to shut down the spas at any time if essential maintenance is required
  • Mountain bikes available to hire from the farm (£25 full day or £15 half day ). Drop offs and pickups at nearby routes and trails can also be arranged.
  • Cottage is located on a working farm and young children should not be left to wander around the farm unsupervised.
  • Mobile signal is not guaranteed on all networks.
  • Half a mile of private fishing rights on the River Crai (one of the tributaries of the world famous salmon river, the Usk)
  • Plenty of information in the cottage on local walks, cycle routes etc.
  • Supermarket delivery available in the area.
  • Zero tolerance policy to noise disturbance and parties due to the village location.

Our group of 25 had an amazing time at Onnenfawr. We rented all 3 properties which worked really well for our group. All three properties were really well equipped and had great kitchens, bedrooms, and living spaces. We especially enjoyed the hot tubs! The location was also great for walks in the Brecon Beacons. We would recommend a walk over the hill to the Usk & Railway in Sennybridge who were brilliant at accommodating our group for Sunday lunch.

We stayed in the cottage , son and his family stayed in the barn , with my other son and his wife joining us later , and daughter and her family stayed in the farm house. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for Christmas. We were desperate but able to join together so easily. Made some wonderful memories , star gazing at night ,saw the milky way and concellations , while spending time in the hot tub. Had the pleasure of seeing Red Kite flying over us. Fantastic places to stay can't thank the owners enough , so friendly and looked after us so well.

We booked all three properties for a group gathering over a long weekend and had a fantastic time. The accommodations were spotless, with clean and comfy beds. The outdoor space is stunning, and the hot tubs are a great way to relax and enjoy the surroundings, while the barn provides a pool table and tabke tennis for entertainment which was good fun. The main kitchen in the barn is spacious, perfect for everyone to sit together for meals and comfortably socialise. It's in a great location for walking and outdoor activities too. I highly recommend booking this accommodation for a big group gathering, or even just one of the smaller properties for a smaller group.

Stayed here for a long weekend as a group of 17 people and 2 dogs for a family get together for a birthday celebration. We had the most amazing 3 night stay at your property, all three properties were spotless and equipped with everything we needed. The views from the hot tubs were just breathtaking, the large gardens outside each of the three properties was also great, not over looked and very private, plenty of parking for all and very easy to find. I could go on and on about how great this place is, we are already talking about coming back to stay but definitely for longer next time. Thank you so much!

The farm is quiet and secluded and located about 1 mile from the quiet rural village of Cray, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons.

The nearest pub is The Tanners in Defynnog, about 2 miles away. There are more pubs, shops and a petrol garage 3 miles away in Sennybridge. The traditional old market town of Brecon is about 7 miles away. Throughout the year, there are many events in the area including the Brecon Jazz Festival, Hay Festival, Green Man Festival. The world renowned Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are both held in Builth Wells. In recent years, The GB Rally and also the Tour of Britain cycling race have passed through the area.

The Brecon Beacons National Park contains some of the most spectacular and distinctive upland formations in Southern Britain covering an area of 1347 sq km (520 sq miles).There are numerous attractions in the area including the spectacular Ystradfellte Waterfalls, the Brecon Mountain Railway and Dan yr Ogof Caves which is one of Wales’s premier family attractions, and was also voted Britain’s finest natural wonder. The Brecon Beacons is the first National Park in the United Kingdom to achieve Geopark status.

Despite its rural and peaceful location, the cottage enjoys great road links to both Swansea (around 45 mins) and Cardiff (around 50mins).


Walks

Spectacular walks can be found in the Beacons National Park with the peaks of Pen y Fan, Cornddu and Cribyn, as well as the 90 kilometre Epynt Way. Paths run directly from the cottage. 0.1 miles.

Fishing

The cottage includes half a mile of private fishing on the River Crave, a tributary of the famous salmon river, the Usk. 0.1 miles .

Cycling

NCR 43 takes you from Craig-y-Nos through to Swansea and the Mumbles. Local trails and country routes. 2 miles.

Pony Trekking

Situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Gilfach Equitation offers trekking, mountain riding, riding lessons, and riding courses. 5 miles.

Golf

Cradoc Golf Club is an 18 hole course and floodlit driving range. There are spectacular views over the Brecon Beacons and Pen y Fan. 10 miles.

Water sports

Water sport enthusiasts are well catered for with the River Usk providing white water canoeing 3.0 miles and Llangorse Lake. 18 miles.
