Description

This beautifully finished property is nestled in the village of Llanarthney located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is situated in the picturesque Tywi Valley, surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills. The village is part of the community of Llanarthney, which includes the nearby National Botanic Garden of Wales. There is a farmers’ market once a week in the village hall to buy fresh produce, and a milk shed to buy fresh milk, both opposite the cottage. Llanarthney and its surroundings offer a peaceful and scenic environment, making it a pleasant place for those seeking a retreat. The village and its community are likely to have a rural charm and a close-knit atmosphere, typical of many Welsh villages. The town of Carmarthen is 9 miles away. Take a visit to Llandeilo and Dinefwr Park and Castle, just 8.5 miles away.

The cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout and provides a lovely home for families or couples. Enter from the gravelled driveway into this home and you will be in the large kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up a storm to enjoy together at the dining table. The handy utility room is off from the kitchen, as well as a separate WC. From the kitchen/diner you will enter the living area with an L-shaped sofa and TV, a perfect spot to relax in after a long day out exploring. Upstairs there are two king-size bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a twin on request. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage and share the bathroom with a choice of a relaxing bath or an invigorating shower.

Enjoy relaxing in the enclosed garden with patio seating and uninterrupted countryside views. It can be reached from the kitchen and the main door. There is a children’s playground in the community field opposite, as well as a dog park.

Reviews

Beautiful house. Beds were super comfortable and we had all we needed. Welcome email from the owner was a really nice touch and very informative. The owner was quick in responding to any questions. This was our first holiday in Wales. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for having us.

Mr L,

The cottage is great - completed to a very high standard and very clean. We visited the local pub at the end of the road which was lovely and the staff extremely friendly. The milk shed opposite was nice offering fresh milk, eggs, honey etc. The park opposite was great for our dog, she loved going over there for a run! We also had a lovely walk up to Paxtons Tower, lovely views over the area. However, we were very concerned that the back boundary fence was quite low and contained 2 rows of barbed wire! considering this is supposed to be a dog and child friendly property we felt this was a huge safety issue. If not remedied there will be a nasty accident for either a dog or a child. There are sheep in the field at the back of the property and this makes that boundary very interesting to a dog! There was also a significant gap at the end of the fence separating it from next door (Cliftonville House) - we blocked this off with a wheelie bin and next door wasn't occupied so not a huge problem but it will pose a problem when the 2 properties are rented out at the same time. When we arrived it was a hot and sunny weekend - there was no shade in the garden - we would recommend a patio umbrella or canopy. We also would have appreciated knowing in advance that logging was taking place on the nearly hillside - at 7.30am each morning we were woken up by chainsaws and heavy machinery - we appreciate this is beyond the property owners control but i think a notice on the booking site making people aware of this would have been appropriate and courteous. I assume at some stage this will cease but for now it is a nuisance! No welcome pack which was a shame :( - it would have been a nice touch. If these issues are addressed we think it would a lovely holiday rental.

Mrs S,

Lovely cottage, spotless and ideal location central for the A48 to cross hands or Carmarthen. Lovely dog field opposite, behind the milk kiosk which is really handy. There is lots going on at the village hall like to pop up pizza van. Lovely Sunday lunch at the coal house in cross hands. Would defo recommend and would love to stay again. Thank you
