Hay Festival- what you expect and what you don’t

This week there is so much to do if you are staying in holiday cottages in Wales. Hay Festival is really taken centre stage and now offers something for everyone in the stunning scenery that is the Black Mountains. You can experience theological debates, watch Mariella Frostrup interview popular writers live. Hear the latest book reviews and rub shoulders with some famous faces.

What you don’t expect?

Or maybe a cookery workshop is your thing? Surprised at the range of activities ?Get involved in exploring new ideas, possibly discover business opportunities as well in the Talent Tent. Explore the tiny town of Hay and maybe enjoy the odd concert or two. Hay has certainly changed over time and gives lots of choice for everyone.

Crickhowell Arts Trail

Just a short drive from Hay is the lovely town of Crickhowell, which is hosting an Arts Trail. Here you can see everything from  paintings, photography, glass and much much more. The beauty of this is that it is in a variety of locations in the town and the local area. Good use is made of local shops, a pretty tiny church to the artists own studios. Great to meet the artist in person. You can see how they work, learn about their story of how their style has involved. Even perhaps commission something a little special as a treat.    If you are inspired to pick up a brush then visit the Art Shop in Abergavenny to stock up on supplied

What ever your reason for visiting Wales you will never be bored and with a great range of holiday cottages from Best of Wales you will have a great choice of places to stay.
