A record 45 Beaches and five marinas in Wales have been awarded a Blue Flag status. This is great news for Wales and for the tens of thousands of people who are planning to visit Wales on holiday this year.
Keep Wales Tidy’s annual environmental awards rate beaches for clean water, litter-free shores, good facilities and safety standards. Best of Wales are glad to announce that 17 of their luxury self catering cottages are within a stone’s throw to some of the beaches featured in the 2010 Blue Flag list. These include a cottage in Amroth, Pembrokeshire; cottages in New Quay, West Wales and in Cricieth, Abersoch and Benllech, North Wales.
Ms Jones, of Keep Wales Tidy, which manages the Europe-wide scheme in Wales, said: “Experts predict that due to the current economic climate more people will be choosing to spend their holidays in the UK.
“With a record number of beaches and marinas in Wales achieving Blue Flag status we are well positioned to announce that a trip to our coast will be a quality experience.”
