Reviews

lovely house,great peaceful location.

Mr M,

Lovely cottage in stunning location. Warm, peaceful and very relaxing.

Mrs W,

The most stunning, peaceful location for a break truly away from it all, but within easy reach of so many things to do and see. The cottage is very cosy with everything we needed and we loved being in total solitude at night as the view of the night sky matched the beauty of the mountains in the day time!

Mr H,

Wonderful cottage with the most outstanding views. Close enough to local amenities but feels completely remote. High quality property with a lovely knowledgeable host who recommended some amazing spots and walks that we might not have discovered. Hope to return here.

Ms C,

The holiday location was fabulous with outstanding surroundings, just what I was looking for when booking it, plus 7 days of unbelievable weather helped too.

Mr Paul G,

A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location - a paradise for walkers. The cottage was immaculate and well appointed, perfect for 4 adults.

Mrs Elizabeth S,

Es war perfekt. Das Cottage ist ruhig und schön gelegen.

Mr Gerrit H,

This property has everything we are looking for its just perfect for us

Mr Graham C,

Fabulous cottage in stunning location, good price and good communications (great automated emails & info).

Mrs Sarah H,

The cottage was as described on your website, it was very clean and the owner Mrs Evans was extremely helpful when we arrived. The only reason for a low mark on the comfort and quality section was, that the settee bottom support was very weak making sitting on it very uncomfortable. Other than that a perfect cottage

Mr Stephen R,

Map

There is no shortage of highly recommended restaurants in Dolgellau and the surrounding area either. Amongst the favourites are Y Meirionydd, Gwin Dylanwad Wine, Tafarn y Gader Tapas and The Royal Ship Hotel, all in Dolgellau itself (1.5 miles). Just outside the town you also have Bwyty Mawddach Restaurant (2.5 miles). The nearest pub (Gwernan Lake) is even closer, just 1 mile from the cottage, whilst The Royal Ship and The Unicorn are also recommended in Dolgellau. There are some amazing cafes such as T.H. Roberts and amongst the other amenities there are 3 supermarkets, a local butchers, grocer, bakeries, chemists and 3 banks.

The Dolgellau area of southern Snowdonia offers an extensive range of footpaths and signposted walks to suit all abilities. In addition to the obvious challenge of Cadair Idris, Dolgellau is also the starting point of the Mawddach Trail (walking and cycle route to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary and Barmouth on the coast). Coed y Brenin's world renowned Mountain Biking Centre is also within 10 miles and there are 2 glorious sandy beaches at Fairbourne (10 miles) and Barmouth (12 miles).

Some of the other popular attractions in the area includes Bounce Below (the largest underground trampoline in Europe) and the Zip Wire ride in Blaenau Ffestiniog. You also have the National White Water Rafting Centre near Bala. For something a little more relaxing, you have options such as Harlech Castle’s World Heritage site, the Centre for Alternative Technology, Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth. Most of Wales’ narrow gauge railways are also located in this area, including Talyllyn narrow gauge railway and the Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog line. If that's not enough, you also have RSPB Reserves and two Osprey Nest viewing hides nearby.
