Description

Detached cottage in a pretty little village in the beautiful Bran Valley on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Perfect for a spot of fishing as the cottage is near a small river,  and includes fishing rights for wild brown trout.  Admirable countryside walks and trails that can be joined directly from the village. The area is also popular for cycling, star gazing and just enjoying the relaxing nature of this alluring countryside. Brecon itself is some 7 miles away and there are some appealing country pubs to be explored in the nearby village.

Ground floor

Open plan lounge,  kitchen and dining area. Comfy sofa and 2 arm chairs, TV, DVD, dining table with seating for up to 6 people.

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle. 

Utility room with washing machine and freezer.

Cloakroom WC and basin.

 

Upstairs

Bedroom 1  - Large double bedroom with vanity unit, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Interconnecting door to bathroom.

Bedroom 2  - Triple bedroom with wardrobe.

Master bathroom with bath, shower unit, wc and basin. interconnecting door to bedroom 1 in addition to door to landing.

 

Outside

Lawn area that is across the road from the cottage. There are table and chairs and a BBQ. There is also a separate football, games area.

This detached cottage is located in the tiny village of Llanfihangel-Nant-Bran just 7 miles outside the market town of Brecon. The nearest shops and petrol stations are in Sennybridge, about 3 miles away. There are several great local pubs within a few miles including the Shoemakers in Pentrebach and Usk and Railway in Sennybridge. Through the valley runs the river Bran which flows into the famous river USK a few miles downstream. 

On the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park this area is a haven for those who like the outdoors and the peace and tranquility of the countryside. The National Park covers  Within a short drive you have also got many great castles you can visit such as Carreg Cennen near Llandeilo. Brecon, Llandovery, Crickhowell, Tretower, Hay and Bronllys.  There are some great family attractions including Cantref Adventure Farm, Llangorse Multi Activity Centre ,  Dan yr Ogof Caves and Pen y fan (the highest peak in South Wales) is also a popular walk. 

The area has many events including the Hay Festival in late May/early June and the Green Man Festival held near Crickhowell in August. The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in July and the Winter Fair in December both held in Builth Wells are highlights of the year for the agricultural community across Wales.

Water sports

Water sport enthusiasts are well catered for with the river Usk providing white water canoeing. 3 miles

Walking

Various spectacular walks can be found in the Beacons National Park, including the peaks of Pen y Fan, Cornddu and Criban. 6 miles.

Fishing

Fishing rights included on the river Bran just a few hundred yards away. 0.2 miles

Golf

There are spectacular views over the Brecon Beacons and Pen y Fan from Cradoc Golf Course. 7 miles

Cycling

Quiet lanes are perfect for road cycling. 0.1 miles.
